Janine Pollack has been prosecuting class actions for over 28 years. She specializes in representing consumers against companies who utilize unfair and deceptive practices, such as false advertising, to sell their products. She has also prosecuted cases involving the False Claims Act, civil rights and defective products. Ms. Pollack has been successful in recovering settlements for millions of dollars on behalf of defrauded consumers, including against the makers of so-called toning and barefoot running shoes and children’s sippy cups. Courts routinely appoint her as lead counsel in such class actions and she has been designated as a Super Lawyer every year since 2012. She was also named in Lawdragon’s list of 500 Leading Plaintiff Financial Lawyers for 2019. Ms. Pollack has served as lead trial counsel, including obtaining a jury verdict against R.J. Reynolds in a wrongful death tobacco case.

Ms. Pollack engages in numerous professional activities as well. She has been appointed to Law360 editorial boards and frequently lectures on consumer fraud, time and stress management and other topics. She serves as Co-President of the National Association of Shareholder & Consumer Attorneys (NASCAT) and chairs its Women’s Initiative, organizing professional and charitable events.

Ms. Pollack has served as a team leader in developing Standards and Best Practices for Increasing Diversity in Mass Tort and Class Action Leadership for the Duke Law School Center for Judicial Studies. Ms. Pollack is also a member of the Women in the Legal Profession Committee of the Bar Association of the City of New York, where she participates in professional development and charitable events. She has co-chaired the Women Litigators Subcommittee which sponsors and organizes educational and other programs at the City Bar. She participated as a co-editor of the Committee’s publication, “Street Smarts for Women Lawyers.”

Ms. Pollack graduated from Rutgers University in 1986 with a B.A. with High Honors where she majored in both French and English. She spent a semester at NYU in France and is fluent in French. In 1989, she graduated from University of Pennsylvania School of Law, where she was elected to the Journal of International Business Law. Ms. Pollack is a member of the Bars of New York and New Jersey.
