Managing Partner Joe Lipari recently won back-to-back trial verdicts in Los Angeles, California, and New York. In the first matter, docketed in Los Angeles Superior Court, Mr. Lipari defended a national, security alarm monitoring company in a complex, multi-party commercial suit involving the transfer of thousands of alarm accounts. After six years of litigation and a multi-million dollar pre-trial demand, Mr. Lipari tried the case over eight days and secured a victory for his client. A few months later, Mr. Lipari tried a case in New York Supreme Court, Commercial Division on behalf of his client, a New York City financial industry recruiting business accused of misappropriating trade secrets and aiding and abetting breaches of fiduciary duty. After nine years of litigation, Mr. Lipari obtained a directed verdict against Arnold & Porter on the third day of trial.
